Biofabrication and Bioengineering
QMI's Gateway to Industry Advanced Manufacturing program recently hosted a webinar to inspire students to consider a career in biofabrication and bioengineering. Attendees learnt how the industry is revolutionising healthcare by creating unique patient-specific models using 3D printing, as well as using other advanced manufacturing technologies to create biomaterials for tissue engineering. Critical thinking, problem solving and communication are the three most important attributes for people to be successful in this exciting field, regardless of academic background.

QMI’s Gateway to Industry Schools Program hosted a webinar for Advanced Manufacturing Gateway Schools which focused on the circular economy in the textile manufacturing sector. The discussion was led by Meriel Chamberlin, CEO of Full Circle Fibres, an expert in sustainable textiles and designing, who discussed how to create a sustainable and regenerative system that minimises waste and maximises resource efficiency.
