Driving a Circular Economy in Textile Manufacturing
Advanced Manufacturing Gateway Schools were given the opportunity to learn about the circular economy within the textile manufacturing sector. The discussion was led by Meriel Chamberlin, CEO of Full Circle Fibres, an expert in sustainable textiles and designing, who discussed how to create a sustainable and regenerative system that minimises waste and maximises resource efficiency.
Bionic Hand Workshops
Bionic hand workshops were delivered across Queensland to teach students how to create an electronically controlled hand. The students learnt block coding and were introduced to real-world applications of this skill.
Cre8tive Dreamtime Workshops
In collaboration with Creative Nations, GISP AM delivered a workshop for Year 7 students to discover the incredible manufacturing ingenuity of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Dalby South’s Adventure with Finch Engineering
Finch Engineering provided Dalby South State School with a real-world problem for them to solve. A steel bracket that is crucial in building grain bins was no longer in production and the students were given the opportunity to tackle this issue.
Continuous Improvement Project with Queensland Gaskets
Queensland Gaskets provided Park Ridge State High School with a real-world industry problem - what to do with the waste foam produced through manufacturing Rheinmetall’s defence projects.
