Connecting Local Manufacturers to New Opportunities and Support

About the Program

The Queensland Government has partnered with the Western Downs Regional Council and QMI to deliver targeted support for manufacturers in the Western Downs. This program aims to identify the support needed to enable growth in the manufacturing sector as well as identify new opportunities for manufacturers in major energy projects and other industries.

Phase 1 - Initial Survey

  • High level analysis of the Western Downs manufacturing sector

  • Manufacturers to complete a short survey conducted by QMI utilising Gateway by ICN

  • Commencing March 2025

Phase 2 - Deeper Analysis

  • Understand the challenges and opportunities for manufacturers

  • QMI will conduct site visits with manufacturers to gain a deeper understanding of the support needed to help grow the sector

  • April - September 2025

Phase 3 - Targeted Solutions

  • Deliver support, capability building activities and connections to new opportunities based on the needs identified in Phase 1 and 2

  • Sept 2025 - Mar 2026

Western Downs manufacturers are invited to a free breakfast to find out more about the program and how they can access support and connections to new opportunities

This program has been funded through the Regional Economic Futures Fund (REFF). The REFF aims to support long-term community prosperity by facilitating sustainable employment and increasing investment in economic development and diversification projects.

The QMI team are looking forward to working closely with manufacturers in the Western Downs to support their continued growth.
