Sustainable solutions in textile recovery

The Gateway to Industry Schools Program facilitated a webinar by BlockTexx, a leader in textile recovery technologies and chemical manufacturing.

Sustainability is everything

Students were given the opportunity to explore BlockTexx end-to-end ecosystem, showcasing how they divert textile waste from landfills and create sustainable products. The GISP webinar served a dual purpose: highlighting an incredible Queensland-based business while also exposing students and educators to broader, global trends within the manufacturing sector.

BlockTexx has trademarked a pioneering technology called S.O.F.T. which is the solution for hard to recycle clothing blends. They have a commercial scale textile recovery facility, advanced chemistry and advanced manufacturing technology that makes the process work.

Careers

Students were reminded of many opportunities within the manufacturing sector to build a career that is not only innovative and utilises the latest technology but is also highly beneficial for the planet. Anyone interested in sustainability should seriously consider a career in manufacturing.
