Cre8tive Dreamtime Workshops
QMI delivered two Cre8tive Dreamtime workshops with the help of Creative Nations, an outstanding First Nation’s owned business. The workshops allowed students to immerse themselves in a unique and culturally rich learning experience.
By combining cultural heritage with cutting-edge technology, the workshops provided students with a fresh perspective on the history and future of manufacturing. The workshops delved into the fascinating history of manufacturing principles, tracing the evolution of methods from traditional techniques to modern advancements. Students were introduced to the concept of transferring principles across time, such as the boomerang which is the world’s first documented case of aerospace engineering which laid the foundation for today’s rockets and aeroplanes.
VR technology enhanced the learning experience and allowed students to be transported back in time. They were able to explore the land as it would have been hundreds of years ago and gain a deeper appreciation for Indigenous culture and ingenuity.
This immersive experience also sparked insightful conversations about the development of VR, the collection of data and the underlying code.
